BBC’s Islamic propaganda: UK TV show features character converting to Islam “and its positive impact on his life”

My latest in the Geller Report:

Here is the latest item in the ongoing dumpster fire of Britain’s cultural and civilizational collapse: according to the MailOnline, the British TV drama EastEnders will feature a character who is in prison for killing his sister converting to Islam “to Islam to find peace after leaving prison.” The storyline is, of course, designed “to challenge prejudices about faith.” Apparently the only religion now worthy of the title of being a “faith” in Britain today is Islam.

“EastEnders bosses,” said the Mail, “have been working with Muslim youth workers ahead of a storyline which sees jailed Bobby Beale explore Islam.” They have been doing so because “they want to show the positive impact of religion in 21st-century society.” Their storyline, however, shows only the positive impact of Islam. There is nothing in EastEnders about the positive impact of Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, or any other religion.

“The Muslim Youth Helpline,” the Mail continues, “has been working with producers of the soap to offer advice on the character’s new story arc. EastEnders fans will see Bobby – the son of show stalwart Ian Beale begin to explore the Islamic faith, and its positive impact on his life. The troubled character will be shown receiving comfort and closure with the help of his new beliefs.”

EastEnders’ executive producer Jon Sen explained: “We are thrilled to be working with the Muslim Youth Helpline on a storyline which serves to challenge preconceptions and prejudices about the role of faith in young peoples’ lives. Bobby Beale’s story will show how a young boy uses religion to help find peace and give his life meaning, structure and purpose. We hope this storyline will demonstrate the positive impact of religion in modern society.”

Sen is not being entirely forthright. If the goal is to show the “positive impact of religion,” then why is only Islam the focus? Why don’t other characters convert to other religions? Zohra Khaku of the Muslim Youth Helpline was more honest about what is being done with EastEnders, saying: “In a time where young British Muslims see their faith overwhelmingly represented in a negative way, it is heartening to see Islam portrayed as a positive influence in Bobby’s life.”

Great. But would EastEnders ever feature a character converting to Islam in prison and becoming a jihadi — which is a real-life storyline of which there are numerous examples? Not on your life. Christianity has been the religion of the majority of Britons for a thousand years, and its monarch is the head of the Church of England. But would EastEnders, even after the Bobby Beale conversion story is played out, ever feature a character converting to Christianity and showing its positive impact on his life?

Of course not. Britain is a tired, mortally ill society, tired and ashamed of its Judeo-Christian heritage, which its political and media elites only dimly remember and understand anyway, and anxious to submit to its new Islamic overlords, as resistance requires too much risk-taking, too much effort, too much pride in oneself.

All that is gone now from Britain. All that is left are a people who don’t know who they are, and are ashamed of what they think they are, and that is a people ripe for conquest. The relentless glorification of Islam in the British media, and the routine cover-up and obfuscation by the same media of the crimes done in the name of Islam and in accord with its teachings, will inevitably have an effect. More and more British citizens will see their own heritage and culture as worthless or worse – a record of racism, imperialism, colonialism, and oppression – and welcome Islam, having been shamed into thinking that opposition to jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women and others constitutes “racism” and “bigotry.”

In that scenario, why would any Briton fight against Islamization when the calls for the imposition of ever more Sharia provisions begin to come? And they will come.
