Palestinian Authority bans LGBTQ activities in West Bank, police to “chase” those promoting LGBTQ

The Palestinian narrative brands Israel a human rights abuser, guilty of “apartheid” and the like. It has been mentioned on Jihad Watch that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has vowed that in a future Palestinian State, “not a single Israeli” will exist in a future Palestinian state.

Jew-hatred is endemic in Islamic culture, as is seen in the jihadi efforts to obliterate Israel from the day of its birth and ongoing. The hatred continues to be taught in school curricula and originates in the Quran.

Another kind of hate originates in Islamic texts which contain recommendations that are implemented in sharia-adherent countries, as well as in the Palestinian territories: gay hatred. And to this day, being gay is punishable by lashings, stonings, and other harsh punishments.

Gays live in constant fear in Gaza. Many are meeting Israelis on Dating Apps, and are busy plotting how to escape to Israel. According to a gay resident of Gaza: “Hamas is always on the lookout for gays and it monitors the social media.”

Now comes news that “the Palestinian Authority banned members of the Palestinian Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community from carrying out any activities in the West Bank.” Palestinian Authority police will now “chase those behind the LGBTQ group and see to it that they are brought to trial once they are arrested.”

While the Democrats are in a frenzy over antisemites Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar being banned from Israel because they are a threat to Israel’s security, where are the Dems, including Tlaib and Omar, working to advance the human rights of gays in the Palestinian territories?

Gay rights, women’s rights, and the rights of religious minorities are routinely violated in the Palestinian territories, while such rights are protected in Israel, but the propaganda against Israel remains largely unquestioned by Leftists, who subscribe to the soft bigotry of low expectations. In their view, it is perfectly acceptable for brown and black people (which is how they view Muslims) to violate the human rights of gays, Christians and other minority faiths and women, but white people (which is how they view non-Muslims) are held to a different measure.

“PA Bans LGBTQ Activities In West Bank,” by Khaled Abu Toameh,

The Palestinian Authority banned members of the Palestinian Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community from carrying out any activities in the West Bank.

The ban came after the grassroots group Al-Qaws for Sexual & Gender Diversity in Palestinian Society (Arabic for “the bow”), which engages and supports Palestinians who identify as LGBTQ, was planning to hold a gathering for its members in Nablus at the end of the month. The group operates both in the West Bank and among Arab-Israelis.

Earlier this month, Al-Qaws held an event in Nablus about sexual and gender diversity in Palestinian society. The PA police, however, learned about the event only days after it was held.

Al-Qaws is a civil society organization established in 2001 with the goal of “fighting for vibrant Palestinian cultural and social change, building LGBTQ communities and promoting new ideas about the role of gender and sexual diversity in political activism, civil society institutions, media, and everyday life.”

The group has offices only in east Jerusalem and Haifa.

Explaining the decision to ban the LGBTQ group from operating in PA-controlled areas, Luay Zreikat, spokesperson for the PA Police, said that such activities are “harmful to the higher values and ideals of Palestinian society.”

Zreikat said that the group’s activities were completely “unrelated to religions and Palestinian traditions and customs, especially in the city of Nablus.”

He accused unnamed “dubious parties” of working to “create discord and harm civic peace in Palestinian society.”

The PA police will chase those behind the LGBTQ group and see to it that they are brought to trial once they are arrested…
