PM Announces Anti-Terrorism Measures to Protect Canadians
“Our Government is serious about taking action to keep Canadians safe. Recent attacks in Canada, which led to the deaths of Corporal Nathan Cirillo and Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, as well as attacks in France and Australia, are reminders that the world is a dangerous place and that Canada is not immune to the threat of terrorism. Recent terrorist actions in Canada are not only an attack on our country, but also our values and our society as a whole.”
Watching the spywatchers: Canada’s spy review board’s members free to have ties to foreign governments
“I think we need a serious review of the security standards and practices as they relate to decision-making in the Privy Council Office and the PMO, stemming from episodes like these,” said former CSIS intelligence operative David Harris, who now works for a counter-intelligence consulting company in Ottawa. He called Dr. Couillard’s relationship with the Saudi government “completely inappropriate,” and said Canada must appear “absurdly soft-touched” for allowing even an advisory tie to a country that employs one of the strictest interpretations of Sharia law. Mr. Harris said there has been some speculation the country’s medical establishment is complicit in carrying out cruel judicial punishments such as amputations.
Tariq Ramdan, Freedom of Speech in Canada and the Charlie Hebdo Attack
This is a very important piece of investigation into one of Tariq Ramadan’s organizations in Canada where it certainly appears that they have been threatening violence against the Charlie Hebdo staff for over 2 years. Banned from entering the U.S. by George W. Bush, Ramadan was welcomed back by Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton. He states that “Canada has one of the easiest legal systems to penetrate and advance sharia from within…but if that doesn’t work, we won’t hesitate to use violent jihad.” This was published in an Egyptian magazine in 2004.

Radical imam could open community centre in Montreal
In the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough, officials are taking a closer look at a permit request from an Islamic community centre after learning the imam, Hamza Chaoui, who’ll be working with young people there has some radical views. On social media the former imam of the Laval Univeristy Muslim student association preaches views such as women can’t be independent, democracy is incompatible with Islam, music must be forbidden, and he’s criticized the World Cup for clothing players wear. He also used to preach at a mosque in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu that the jihadist Martin Couture Rouleau attended.
Islamic extremism delays permit for Montreal Muslim Centre
Quebec Immigration Minister Kathleen Weil said she doesn’t want to tell the City of Montreal what to do, but she cautioned the city against providing Chaoui with a platform for his extremist views. ‘The teachings, if you will, of this imam, they are totally unacceptable in a free and democratic society.”
The Parti Québécois opposition, meanwhile, called Chaoui’s teachings “medieval.”
“Imam Hamza Chaoui said in the past that democracy and Islam are incompatible, and that voting is a sin. We strongly condemn these medieval remarks,” said the party’s secularism critic, Agnès Maltais.
“Philippe Couillard needs to affirm that teachings of that nature are not compatible with our values, and we won’t tolerate them,” said Nathalie Roy.

The soldiers, “acting in self-defence, effectively returned fire, neutralizing the threat,” said Forget, adding that there were no injuries among Canadians from the two firefights.
“If those guys fire at us, we’re going to fire back and we’re going to kill them, just like our guys did,” Prime Minister Stephen Harper said.
Truth is an Essential Weapon in a War of Ideas
Michel Coulombe, Director of CSIS when responding to a reporter’s question about the absence of the word “Islam” in a report they had prepared on homegrown terrorism explained, “We prefer to talk about terrorism inspired by al-Qaida ideology”. Really? I’d prefer that we didn’t have to talk about terrorist attacks at all but wishing won’t make it so and since that’s the case, I’d prefer that we had a CSIS Director who wasn’t afraid of properly naming the threat we’re facing.
Radical Islam poses a real, direct threat to the West — including Canada by Conrad Black
The entire political and media community in this country, as it apparently has in France, must stop playing little Red Riding Hood with what is an attack on our civilization. Canada is a designated target. Everything that almost all Canadians believe in is being comprehensively assaulted and distributing blankets and running around with our hair on fire when shots are exchanged in combat zones is not even the start of an adequate response.
The associate publisher of the influential Paris newspaper Le Figaro wrote last week in an uplifting “Declaration” that a “new religious war on a planetary scale” has been declared.
“Islamists massacre Christians in Egypt, Iraq, Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, all over, in fact,” he wrote. He predicted a “pitiless unleashing of a renascent Islam … by the immense Islamized masses of the Third World and our great metropolises,” motivated by a “hatred of Christianity (that) vastly exceeds all problems of faith. Attacking churches, priests, other religious personnel, and the faithful, Islamists wish to destroy Western civilization, democracy, capitalism, what they call ‘neo-colonialism,’ equality of the sexes, the Rights of Man, all progress as we conceive it. Marx, Lenin, and Stalin have been replaced (as enemies of the West) by Allah and the Prophet. Bellicose imams have taken the places of the political commissars.”
